Big, small. Short, tall. Skinny, wide. Lidded, non. Plain, ornate. So many words can be used in connection with the myriad of collectible steins which have been created over many years. Beer steins became popular during the black plague when people would bring their own mugs to the tavern. Hinged lids were added keep out contamination, preventing further spread of disease. Vessels that started out as a functional necessity have developed into collectible works of art.
Anheuser-Busch has long been at the forefront of limited edition collector steins. The Budweiser Clydesdales have been captured on many different steins, including their signature Budweiser Holiday Christmas steins. In store we have over 30 different steins from several companies dating back as far as the early 1990s.
